The Story of LAZZONI

LAZZONI is more than a furniture brand. Its story spans generations, shaped by craftsmanship, devotion, and a legacy deeply rooted in nature, time, and artistry. The beginning traces back to the year 1815, in the Macahel region of Artvin, on the coasts of the Black Sea.

1815:

The Beginning of Everything

In 1815, an avalanche destroyed the mosque in Camili, Artvin. The Ottoman Sultan ordered Arhavi’s master carpenters to rebuild it, and among them were LAZZONI’s ancestors. Today, a sign at the entrance of Camili reads: “Built by Arhavi master carpenters by the order of the Sultan.” This is the earliest written trace of a woodworking legacy that continues with LAZZONI.

1897:

Mastery in the Form of a Serender

One item of family heritage still stands strong: a serender built in 1897 by LAZZONI’s second generation. This early example of the brand’s legacy features traditional wooden joinery and fine detailing, and some even compare it to the wooden houses of Kyoto. Entirely crafted without nails or modern materials, it reflects a time when Arhavi was a small village and woodworking was solely the craft of LAZZONI’s ancestors. Years later, this unique structure was carefully moved from Arhavi to Ankara, and now stands at the heart of LAZZONI’s headquarters, honoring the past, inspiring the future.

1950s:

At the City’s Heart

Generations passed, but the passion for craftsmanship remained. In the 1950s, Osman Kababulut, Hasan Usta’s son and LAZZONI’s third-generation representative, was invited to Ankara to help build the third Turkish Grand National Assembly, opened in 1960. With his brothers and a team of carpenters, he also restored the second Assembly House.

Recognizing the city’s growing potential, he chose not to return to the Black Sea and became one of Ankara’s furniture industry pioneers.

1960s:

Siteler and Bulut Kitchen

Osman Kababulut’s reputation quickly spread across the capital. In the early 1960s, the Prime Minister proposed creating an organized industrial zone for furniture production. Osman became a key figure in realizing this vision, helping to establish Siteler, one of Turkey’s first industrial furniture hubs.

In 1963, he founded Bulut Kitchen, the first company in Turkey to produce modular kitchens. His decision to import modern machinery from Germany marked a turning point in local manufacturing. Bulut Mutfak became a household name, and for years, it was said that one in every three homes in Ankara had a Bulut kitchen.

2000:

The Birth of LAZZONI

With the arrival of a new century came a new vision. Yaşar Kababulut, the fourth-generation representative, set out to elevate the family legacy by blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design. He founded LAZZONI, a name inspired by a local phrase meaning “made by the Laz” and a nod to Italian style, reflecting the brand’s fusion of global design and Laz heritage.

He established a 25,000 square-meter modern production facility in Akyurt, Ankara. LAZZONI grew into a lifestyle brand rooted in craftsmanship, driven by design, simplicity, and innovation.

2009:

A Step into the World

In 2009, Efe and Berke Kababulut brothers, representing the fifth generation, stepped forward to take the family brand onto the world stage. With the opening of a store in the heart of Chelsea, New York, LAZZONI made its mark internationally. This move became a cornerstone in the brand’s journey toward global recognition.

Today, LAZZONI continues to grow across the globe, expanding its presence all over. We remain committed to sharing the story and spirit of LAZZONI with the world.

2015:

From Furniture to Hospitality

Expanding beyond furniture, the brand entered the world of hospitality with the opening of LAZZONI Hotel, located by the Golden Horn in Istanbul. The hotel reflects LAZZONI’s dedication to design, quality, and refined living in every detail.

2024:

LAZZONI House

With LAZZONI House, the brand’s mastery in furniture design extended into the world of architecture. Developed in Ankara, this unique living concept unites interior expertise, timeless design, and sustainable thinking, marking a new chapter in LAZZONI’s journey. Lazzoni designed apartments entered the stage as the most valuable project in the capital.

Today and Beyond

Today, LAZZONI is not just a brand. It is a family, a tradition, and a vision. A journey that began with the rebuilding of a village structure now continues across homes, cities, and countries. What remains constant is the commitment to craftsmanship, elegance, quality, and innovation.

And the story is far from over. LAZZONI continues to grow, creating new chapters in new homes, with new lives.

The story of LAZZONI is still being written.
