2021 Turkey wildfires were the worst-ever wildfire season in the country’s history. It was a series of over two hundred wildfires that burnt 1,600 square kilometers of Turkey’s forest in its Mediterranean Region in July and August 2021, leaving behind a tragedy. It's originating from a heatwave that more likely happened by climate change. A total of 180 wildfires have affected 38 different provinces in Turkey. The fires have adversely affected forests and residential areas; thus, several neighborhoods and villages have been evacuated. Many animals have perished among the fires.
